(1) Low plasticity. The plasticity of aluminum alloy is greatly influenced by the composition of the alloy and the forging temperature, and the sensitivity of plasticity to deformation speed varies with the content of alloying elements. When the content of alloying elements increases, the plasticity of aluminum alloy decreases continuously and is sensitive to deformation speed. The degree is also enhanced. Most aluminum alloys are positive strain rate sensitive materials, that is, the flow stress decreases with the decrease of deformation rate. Therefore, for large aluminum alloy forgings for aviation, hydraulic or hydraulic presses are often used, and for small and medium forgings, spirals can be used. Press or mechanical press manufacturing.
(2) Strong adhesion. Since aluminum and iron can be solid-solved, the aluminum alloy often exhibits a sticking phenomenon during the forging process. It is generally believed that spindle oil can provide better lubrication. In recent years, Acheson and other companies in the United States have also developed aluminum alloy lubricants suitable for industrial applications. Domestic companies also have their own oil-based or water-based lubricants, and the results are also very good.
(3) The forging temperature range is narrow. Most aluminum alloys have a forging temperature range of less than 150 ° C, and some even have a temperature of 70 ° C. Therefore, in forging production, multiple heating methods are often required to ensure good forgeability of the aluminum alloy. In particular, aerospace and military products that require strict product performance are often produced by isothermal forging in the final forming process.
(4) The amount of deformation of the process is small. Aluminum alloy forging generally does not allow less steps and large deformations, so as to avoid coarse crystals or cracks. Therefore, it is often necessary to reasonably distribute the total deformation amount, and the blanking process has a great influence on the forming result of the final product. Since the workpiece is subjected to several processes and the temperature is often lower than the required forging temperature, it is required to be heated again.
